When a child can already read simple words, the next work is meaning, sentence sense and stamina. Here is how to use the pages.

The next step is not harder words
Once a child reads simple words, the useful work is understanding: what the sentence means, which word fits, what happens next. A page that asks a child to choose, complete or order words does more than a page of longer words read alone.
Let them read aloud to you
Short readings, out loud, every day. If a child stumbles, wait three seconds before helping. Many stumbles fix themselves, and the pause teaches them that they can fix it too.
Talk about the sentence
After a fill in the blank, ask why the chosen word fits. "The cat sat on the mat" and "the cat sat on the moon" are both readable. Only one makes sense, and noticing that is the skill.

Build stamina slowly
Start with one short passage and stop while it still feels easy. Two weeks of easy reading builds more stamina than one long hard passage.
Signs it is working
Your child corrects themselves without being told, asks what a word means, or laughs at something in the text. Those are the moments to notice out loud.
