1. Who we are
YHO is a learning app made by Your Help OS ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information we collect through the YHO app (the "App") and the website yho.app (the "Website"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Who YHO is for
YHO is designed for children ages 4 and up, used with a parent or guardian, and is built for learners of all ages. Accounts may only be created by parents, guardians, or adults aged 18 or older. Children do not create accounts.
3. Information we collect
a) Parent or adult account
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. Your password is encrypted. We use Supabase to provide secure sign-in.
b) Information that stays on your device only
The following is stored only on your iPhone or iPad and is never sent to our servers:
- Child profile names and avatars
- Learning progress, stars, and levels
- Progress analytics shown to parents inside the App
- App settings, including Light/Dark Mode, Larger Text, High Contrast, and Reduce Motion
- Screen time limits
- Your parental PIN
c) Website newsletter and waitlist
If you subscribe on our Website, we collect the email address you enter. We use it only to send YHO updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
d) Purchases
YHO is a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store. Apple processes all payments. We never receive or store your card or payment details.
e) Optional crash reports from Apple
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone or iPad settings, Apple may share anonymous crash reports with us. You control this setting in your device settings at any time.
4. Information we do not collect
We do not collect full names, home addresses, phone numbers, precise location, photos, camera or microphone data, contacts, or social media information. We do not collect personal information from children.
5. Progress analytics
Progress analytics are calculated and stored only inside the child profile on your device. We cannot see them, and we do not keep them. If you delete a profile or uninstall the App, this information is removed from your device.
6. How we use information
We use the limited information we collect only to:
- Create and secure your account and let you sign in
- Respond to support requests you send us
- Send Website newsletter or waitlist updates you subscribed to
- Comply with the law
7. Children's privacy (COPPA)
YHO is designed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not collect personal information from children. Child profiles are created by a parent or guardian and stay on the parent's device. The App does not show ads, does not track children, and does not share children's information with anyone.
8. Parental consent and control
A parent or guardian aged 18 or older creates the account and sets up each child profile. Parents can protect settings with a parental PIN and set screen time limits. Parents can review or delete a child profile at any time inside the App. Deleting a profile or uninstalling the App removes that child's information from the device. To withdraw consent or delete your account, delete it in the App or email support@yho.app.
9. No ads, no tracking, no selling
The App contains no ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no third-party advertising or tracking. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising or to build behavioral profiles.
10. Service providers
We use a small number of providers, only to run YHO:
- Apple — App Store distribution and payment processing
- Supabase — secure account sign-in (email and encrypted password only)
- Base44 (our website platform) — Website newsletter and waitlist emails
Each provider may use this information only to provide its service to us.
11. Data retention and deletion
- Account information is kept until you delete your account.
- When you delete your account or ask us to, we delete your account information from our active systems within 30 days. Copies may remain in our provider's automatic backups for up to 30 days, then are permanently overwritten.
- Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Information stored on your device is removed when you delete a profile or uninstall the App.
We respond to deletion and privacy requests within 30 days.
12. Security
We use encryption and access controls to protect account information. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and limit what we collect.
13. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to withdraw consent.
- European Union and United Kingdom: you also have the right to object to or restrict processing and to complain to your local data protection authority.
- United States: residents of states with privacy laws (such as California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and others) may have the right to know, access, correct, and delete their information, and to opt out of the sale of personal information or targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
To make a request, email support@yho.app. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
14. International users
YHO is available worldwide. Account information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
15. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If we make a material change to how we handle information, we will notify account holders by email before the change takes effect.
