What Early Reviews Taught Me
The first reviews taught me more than the building did.
One parent wrote that their child did Color Stack every morning for two weeks and then stopped, and that was fine. That's exactly what I hoped for. An activity a child loves, then outgrows, is a successful activity.
Another wrote that the app was too quiet. They meant it as a complaint. I took it as a compliment. Loud is easy. Quiet is the whole point.
A few said their kid was too young, or too old, or wanted more activities. All useful. The age range is real, the app is small on purpose, and I'd rather hear it than not.
The one that stuck with me was short: 'Finally, an app that doesn't feel like it's trying to keep my kid hooked.' That's the whole thing I was trying to make, said back to me by a stranger.
I read every review. I don't always reply, but I read them. They're the only feedback that matters, because they're from the people actually using it with their kids.

Why I Keep the App Small on Purpose
More activities isn't always better. A note on choosing depth over clutter.
On Listening to the Parents Who Email Me
The emails I get from parents shape what I build next. Here's how that actually works.
A Note to the Parents Who Tried YHO First
You downloaded an app with almost no reviews. That's a leap, and I don't take it lightly.
