Choosing Slow Growth on Purpose
I chose slow growth on purpose, and I have to remind myself of that often.
Fast growth in apps usually means spending a lot on ads to grab a lot of people fast, then hoping enough of them stick. With a one-time price and no subscription, that math doesn't work, and I don't want it to.
So YHO grows the way a good reputation grows: one parent at a time. Someone uses it with their kid, it works, they tell another parent. That's the whole engine.
It's slow. Some months it feels too slow. Then a review comes in from someone I've never met, saying the app is exactly what they wanted, and I remember why I picked this way.
Many parents tell me they found YHO from another parent, not an ad. That's the only growth I trust, because it means the app earned it.
I'm not trying to build a big company. I'm trying to build one honest thing that lasts. Slow is the price of honest.

A Note to the Parents Who Tried YHO First
You downloaded an app with almost no reviews. That's a leap, and I don't take it lightly.
